The School Christmas Dance, was put together by myself and a few other students. We organized the dance to raise money for St. Lucia - an island in the caribbean that had just suffered from a major hurricane-, as well as get everyone into that christmas spirit we all love. It was an open party to our whole secondary school and guests, allowing everyone to interact with their friends inside and outside of school. The dance was themed White, Silver and Blue giving a "Winter Wonderland" affect.
Having barley 2 weeks to prepare, i believe we did a great job. It was nerve racking and hectic at time as we had to get tickets designed, printed and sold in so little time. The most nerve racking part about this organization, was wether or not we were going to sell the tickets, which would result in a good or bad party. Between myself and the other organizers we put a lot of effort into this dance as we had to get all the students excited and wanting to come. As much as it was hard work it was a lot of fun organizing and preparing. On the day, we went to the venue and decorated which was extremely stressful as we only had one hour decorate the whole night club. Fortunately, we pulled it off, and the place turned out looking great. I really enjoyed the decorating part as it was fun and got everyone in the christmas spirit. The dance itself turned out really good. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, and i felt every confident, relaxed and happy about the way everything was going. It is definitely something i would like to keep as a tradition in our school.
