TOK: Summary of ideas pages 204 - 216 (Chap 7.4)

History, is a way in which the past is presented to us, due to events and things that have happened and been recorded. History books were written about what happened previously to our present time now, and also previous to our lives. When recorded facts of the past, it is important that historians gather primary documents in order to keep their recordings as accurate as possible. Primary sources are documents which were written, drawn, created etc during the time of the event etc. Therefore, first hand witness's who either saw or took place in the event recorded what happened, creating an accurate source.  There is in fact a possibility Historians can gather false information and record that information, leaving individuals with a wrong explanation of what happened previously. A Secondary source is one that was not written during the time or by a first and witness and therefore leaves room for in accuracy due to their being either miss-communication, false findings, missing documents etc. The facts of History allow us to create and our future and get where we are today. It is one big story and the past is needed to relate to the future and to complete the story.
